Natural Soda Taste Test Challenge #3: Knudsen's Spritzers
I've been drinking these Knudsen Spritzers for years now, so I was surprised this week when I returned to them after trying the Zevia and Fizzy Lizzy's from previous posts. These canned sodas have graced health food store beverage aisles since 1985, so they're old school. Maybe it's the heavy handed taste of white grape juice, but this natural soda tastes a lot heavier and sticky than others I've been drinking. I'm also liking the taste of beverages out of a glass bottle better than out of a can, so that give Fizzy Lizzy bonus points over other natural sodas.Compare Knudsen's Mandarin Lime Spritzer to Fizzy Lizzy's Pineapple:Knudsen's contains sparkling filtered water; white grape, tangerine, and lime juice concentrates; natural flavors.Fizzy Lizzy's contains: triple-filtered carbonated water, pineapple juice concentrate, vitamin C.Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's the white grape juice concentrate. Knudsen's 10.5 ounce can has 28 grams of sugars and 2% of your daily Vitamin C, versus 25 grams of sugars and 100% of your daily vitmain C in Fizzy Lizzy's.So for this challenge, Fizzy Lizzy wins hands down. I'll still finish off the cans of Knudsen's in my fridge, but next time I'll stock up on bottles of FL.
