Why Successful Multi-Hyphenate Women Get Stuck

You're multi-talented, good at most things you’ve tried, and are stuck. You’re afraid you’ll pick the “wrong” path, or already did, but have this itch to create that next level of success for yourself.

I call the women I work with:

  • Multi-hyphenates: artist-writer-coach-yoga teacher-podcaster-jewelry designer-tech sales maven… you get the picture.

  • Renaissance women: good at almost everything she’s ever tried

  • Life-Long Learners: always expanding knowledge and growing skills

So if this sounds like you, welcome to my club!

From tech sales mavens to the PhDs, MDs, to the rising CEO, we Creatrixes are everywhere.

But we still get stuck in the “what next” phase.

We crave a simple path forward, but get irritated when we try to shoe-horn our myriad skills and methods into a 3-step process and package it like everyone else.

We are not everyone else.

You are here to contribute and serve in a way that only you can. You’ve had a weird, surprising path that looks like no one else you know.

You have a unique menu of experience, talents, and tools.

One of the big reasons we get stuck?

We reach a certain level of achievement, and even though we got to this point with our weird toolkit of experiences, quirks, and education, we start looking at how other people do it, and try to copy other successful leaders.

And it doesn’t jive with how we are built to do things.

We reach a huge milestone, then forget to trust our instincts, and forget the strengths that got us here.

We’ve achieved so much, all of our goals are getting checked off the list:

AND WE SUDDENLY FREAK OUT WE WILL LOSE IT ALL.

I’m here to tell you that as a multi-hyphenate Creatrix myself, I know how you want to feel: free to be unique and flexible while creating something stable.

I know, because that’s me, too.

I’ve built a career that has morphed over time from health coaching to business and sales coaching, through podcasting, publishing, speaking, and watercolor painting

There is a path that is uniquely yours where you can contribute all of your talents, and continue to grow in a way that aligns with your values.

Let’s map that path together.

Over the years I’ve been in a lot of visible leadership positions, including as a kind of well-being and personal development spokesperson, because of my film Super Size Me, and books like Radical Alignment and Women, Food, and Desire.

The pressure and scrutiny was intense. Almost unbearable at times. These days, I use my health coaching experience, artist practices, and positive psychology training to help emerging women leaders, entrepreneurs, public figures, and philanthropists.

If you think some conversation with me might possibly be helpful, you should reach out. People come to me for all sorts of reasons including:

  • how to navigate challenges,

  • make big decisions,

  • surface values,

  • get unstuck,

  • feel less isolated,

  • find meaning, and

  • improve work and family relationships.

If you're curious, don't be shy. We will just talk. And I'm fun and nice to talk to. I promise.
