Are you DOING it all without HAVING it all? Are you getting the return on investment for your effort? Join me for today’s discussion about soul models and self-knowing and we will hash it out together.

From my webinars and the questions some women are asking, I know that many of us are second-guessing ourselves, are stuck in over-analysis and criticism, self-doubt, and we look for outside validation, don’t trust others, and downplay ourselves. Sound familiar? Let’s jump into some key factors and talk about how to find true healing and empowerment.

Show Highlights:

  • Soul models: essentially role models—those people who can look at their stories honestly and let their messy selves be seen as they speak truth to try to figure things out

  • My recent getaway to Sag Harbor with friends, Elizabeth and Rebecca, where we talked about business, life, parenting, our journeys, relationships, sex, our common work with anti-racism, and other issues

  • Why I’ve determined to be a lifelong student of learning

  • How my soul models inspire me to work smarter and make my work better

  • How to “gossip UP”—not tearing people down, but talking clean about the women we absolutely respect and admire

  • How tapping into communal wisdom can help

  • How to stop gossip in its tracks with a simple question: “Why are you telling ME this?”

  • How to join me in a life free of toxic gossip:

    • Only talk “up” or share neutral information

    • Avoid toxic gossip by opting out and excusing yourself

  • The Five Magic Mirrors:

    • Nourishment–feeling healthy, vital, and satisfied

      • Ask: Does this feel nourishing to me?

    • Connection–feeling loved, loving, and engaged

      • Ask: Does this feel authentic?

    • Desire–feeling clear on what I want

      • Ask: Is this what I truly desire, or is it a “should”?

    • Trust–feeling known as I honor my instincts and intuitions

      • Ask: Am I trusting myself?

    • Play–laughing often, having joy and positive emotions

      • Ask: Is this fun for me?

  • Spiritual bypassing–the tendency to use spiritual ideas and practices to avoid facing unresolved emotional issues

  • Why spiritual bypassing is difficult to do when you use the Five Magic Mirrors
